What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise method based on the work of 'Joseph Pilates'. It is designed to lengthen muscles as it strengthens them. With an emphasis on muscle control, posture, coordination, strength, flexibility & balance. Pilates has been shown to be a highly effective way to rehabilitate injuries & help chronic pain. This method of exercise involves concentration combined with the coordination of breath & movement helping balance the body as well as the mind.
Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor
Tom received his Realistic Basic Pilates Qualification in 2006 and completed the full Realistic Pilates Mat Pilates Level 3 qualification in February 2009.
A Mat Pilates Level 3 Qualification is the standard an Instructor has to achieve in order to become an fully accredited Pilates instructor.
Diamond Pilates Instructor
In 2017 Tom achieved his Diamond Pilates Certification
- Gaining knowledge on pelvic floor anatomy, function & failure -
- Integrating pelvic floor exercises in to Pilates classes -
Does your Pilates Instructor meet the level?
Ask your instructor how long their Pilates course was.....
Ask what they had to do to achieve their qualification.....
Not all Level 3 courses are the same!!!!!
You owe it to yourself to put your body & well being in the hands of someone that has studied Pilates for more than a few days!
